HISTORY

CHRISTMAS RAFFLE

The first Christmas Raffle was held on December 13th, 1968 in the Oak Room of the Windsor Hotel.  Tickets sold at 5 for $1.00 or $.25 per ticket.  In 1979 prizes changed from Cheer to Cash.  In 1981, the price of tickets changed to $1.00.  In 1992, prizes increased to $2,000.  The raison d’etre of this event is to allow members of the U.I.S. to help others.  Members are encouraged to sell tickets and they may submit names of families in need.
