Paul Loftus
Born and raised in Ballina, County Mayo, Ireland Paul is one of seven children. He settled in Canada in 1971.
Paul met his wife, Vivi, while speaking at a conference in Indonesia. They married and are raising their daughter in Montreal where they are very involved in the community.
Paul is owner and president of Paul Loftus & Associates Inc., a firm of International Management and Organizational Development Consultants founded in March 1984 and incorporated in 1991.
Paul graduated from University College Dublin with a B.Comm., and from Concordia University with a B.A. in Psychology. He holds an M.Sc. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Lamar University, Texas. Paul has also earned numerous academic certifications and professional designations including banking, insurance and journalism.
Paul is a licensed Industrial/Organizational Psychologist who conducts training seminars. He is also a well known speaker, and has spoken at conferences throughout the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
With a personality that is warm and welcoming, it is no surprise that Paul has been interviewed by many media outlets on a variety of topics. He is the former co host of The Irish Show which aired on CF Cable 9 and Videotron. His extroverted personality seems to run in his family. His oldest brother Tom was a professional comedian and another brother Jim has appeared in several Canadian movies and can be frequently be seen on TV commercials.
As a freelance journalist Paul has written numerous articles for international journals and business magazines, and is co-author of “Time Well Spent - Getting Things Done Through Effective Time Management”.
An eager person with no time to stand and watch the world go by, Paul is President of the Ireland-Canada Chamber of Commerce, Montreal Chapter. He is Co-founder and a Director of the Montreal Trainers’ Group and Vice President of The Montreal Press Club. His other professional affiliations include membership in the Quebec Association for Adult Learning, The American Society for Training and Development, the American Management Association and others.
Personally engrained into the Montreal Irish community, Paul has participated in various capacities, including as President and co-founder of the Ireland-Canada Chamber of Commerce, former Director of the St. Patrick Society, former Captain of the Montreal Shamrocks Gaelic Football Team, former President, Vice President – Entertainment, and player with the Montreal Irish Rugby Football Club, and numerous others.
The United Irish Societies of Montreal is honoured to name Mr. Paul Loftus as Grand Marshal of the 2012 St. Patrick’s Parade.
